Dog Friendly Tours Portrush

Dog Friendly Tours are a new fun walking experience for dog owners. No matter what the weather, our four-legged friends always need to get out and about and there's no better way to do it together. The tours are light hearted fun and you willl earn about the history of the places you will visit, and chat to the locals, there are a host of dog friendly venues and cover a distance of approximatgely 5km. There are currently two tours available – The Big Woof Tour which includes a bespoke beer tasting, and the Weekend Walkies tour which is available to book at the last minute if you are visitng the area. Each venue stop on the tour welcomes dogs. The tour price includes food and beverage (Tea/Coffee/Scones/Traybakes/Guinness/Lunch with wine/Local beer/Sweet treats/ Local delicacies/Bandana and dog treats) The Big Woof Tour This tour is approximately 5 kilometres in distance covered over a 3- 4 hour period with regular stops at our venues. During the tour you will enjoy fresh scones/baked goods with tea/coffee, Guinness, snacks, a light lunch and a fantastic local brewery beer tasting. Meeting Point The tour will meet at the East Strand Car Park and will start at exactly 10:00 and will end a short distance from the car park along the promenade. At the end of the tour you will be welcome to stay on and enjoy more food, drink and craic if you wish. Your four legged friends will also enjoy a special treat at the end of the tour with plenty of watering holes en route. Weekend Walkies Tour This tour covers 5km approx and will take in 7 Dog Friendly stops. This tour includes, tea/coffee/scones/cakes, Guinness, Lunch and glass of wine, local beer, doggie bandana and doggie treats. Please call to check availability before booking online. Medieval Music at Dunluce Castle

Hear the sounds of the Castle long ago played on authentic reproduction instruments, tunes from the Middle Ages to the 17th century, music from Ireland, Scotland and further afield. The iconic ruin of Dunluce Castle bears witness to a long and tumultuous history. First built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500, the earliest written record of the castle was in 1513.

SupercupNI

SuperCupNI, the international youth football tournament, is one of the premier annual sporting events in the province. Teams from all over the world compete against each other at venues in Coleraine, Ballymoney, Limavady, Portrush and Ballymena. The much anticipated event begins on the Sunday evening with a colourful, lively parade of the teams through Coleraine town centre to the Showgrounds on the Ballycastle Road. Crowds line the parade route to greet the players and to welcome them to the town. The tournament, which features a new mini section this year for players under the age of 13, in addition to its Junior and Premier competitions, has established itself across a global stage over the years since it first kicked off in 1983. Tournaments There is a Challenge game on Saturday 21st with Manchester United playing Celtic FC. There will be two games featuring girls teams. There are 133 games played over the 6 days and these are played at 13 different venues. Highlights are the Challenge Game, the Parade of teams through Coleraine, The Welcome Ceremony, Finals Night all add to the Tournament games. The Portstewart Community Red Sails Festival

The Red Sails Community Festival is organised by the Portstewart Community Association and supported by the Causeway Coast and Glens Council. Since its inception in the year 2000 it has grown to become one of most popular local community and tourist events in the region. Kite Festival

This high-flying spectacle returns for another year offering fun for all the family as a kaleidoscope of kites of all sizes take to the skies over the iconic coastal estate of Downhill Demesne. There will be award-winning kite displays, stunt kite teams, and other kite related activities, all of which will make this a weekend not to be missed. The highlight of the summer for many, there will also be quad pod rides, a speciality food and drink market, kids’ inflatables and much much more!

Ulster Military Vehicle Club Show

This annual event which takes place during the first weekend in August gives the public the opportunity to see up close, a range of historic military vehicles. The Ulster Military Vehicle Club exists to promote the restoration, preservation and display of ex-military vehicles. There will be re-enactments and display stalls along side the exhibition. Experience all of this history with a backdrop of the beautiful North Antrim Coast.

Champion of Champions Pipe Band Competition, Portrush

The Pipe Band and Drum Major Champion of Champions' competition in Portrush, that takes place towards the end of August annually, is the culmination of a series of competitions held throughout the province during the year. You will experience a real feast of sound and colour during the event, when the seaside town hosts a large number of bands, pipers and drummers, all vying for the silverware. The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland organises and delivers all Championship Pipe Band and Drum Major contests here, along with the Ulster Solo Piping and Drumming Championships. They are dedicated to the promotion of the culture and advancement of pipe and drum music and the encouragement of arts and cultural tourism across Northern Ireland. This is an excellent day out for all the family.

From the earliest known settlement at Mountsandel almost 10,000 years ago, a fascinating Bronze Age village, and a Medieval Abbey kitchen, to the first town of the official Plantation, this exhibition reveals the fascinating history of the Coleraine area. Visitors can also discover the history of our local trades, industries, tourism and culture, local contributions to WWI and WWII, alongside the story of some of our more famous people including Hugh Thomson and Sam Henry.
